Google's Project Oxygen wants to make you a better boss

Everyone’s heard of Stephen’s Covey’s 1989 classic “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, but now search engine giant
Google has unveiled the fruits of an extensive data mining project: The 8 habits of a good manager.

With suggestions like, “be a good coach” and “don’t be a sissy” the project may seem like the company is stating the obvious, but according to Google managers who have taken the advice gleaned from analyzing performance reviews, feedback surveys and nominations for top-manager awards for months–the suggestions have gotten positive feedback.

For a company whose slogan was “Don’t be Evil,” the eight habits seem like a step in the right direction and in my opinion, would be helpful for any employee, not just managers.
