Great coverage for our press release on our cider report today, starting the days headlines with the story being featured on BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio Wales, and some fantastic coverage in The Times business section. In addition, our exclusive with the Daily Mail on our Jeans report received global attention, with follow up pieces appearing in publications worldwide including the Herald Sun in Australia and The Times of India.

The PR team have been keeping our analysts busy – with an unprecedented three separate interviews for food and drink analysts Ben Perkins, Kiti Soinien and Jonny Forsyth for three separate Radio 4 broadcasts in the same week – more on this next week as they are broadcast (keep your ears open for The Food Programme and You and Yours next week!). Richard Perks was also broadcast across the nation with his thoughts on retail and the bad weather making BBC News, but also being featured on a huge number of regional BBC radio stations including Cumbria, Tees, Essex, Manchester and York. In addition, Chris Brockman was also interviewed by Japanese newswire JiJi on the impact of the rising price of cocoa – great coverage for extending the Mintel brand in Asia.

Our Youth Fashion press release also received further coverage this week with a page feature in The Independent and coverage in Just Style and South African online publication Biz Community. The Independent also ran a high profile double page feature on our news story from last year on the decline in popularity for watches – which also got followed up in the Times of Oman and Lanka Newspapers in Sri Lanka. And we had a third feature in The Independent this week using our baking report data. We also got some good beauty coverage, featuring in the Metro for our anti-ageing data, Cosmetics International used our online beauty data and our 2011 beauty trend story featured in Cosmetic News Weekly.

Meanwhile, some great high profile coverage in the US, with Lynn Dornblaser being interviewed on 2011 trends for USA today and Marcia Mogelonsky commenting on the issue of Cocoa price rises to various titles including the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Mineapolis Star-Tribune. In addition, Bill Patterson was featured in Advertising Age about the success of Starbucks Via instant coffee in the marketplace – great profile for our expertise in these areas.

In addition, AOL News covered our news story on the popularity of store brand products, The Brand Channel used our GNPD product figures in a piece on innovation and Newsweek covered our report data on antioxidents. We also had some great coverage in the New York Times on the cereal market in America and Bankrate featured Comperemedia data on credit card rewards.

Very interestingly, we spotted the first article to be written soley using information (from both the UK and US) from our Twitter feed this week – another reason why this continues to be such an effective channel for Mintel.
