[WATCH] Trending ingredients to watch: Oat Kernel Extract

The concept of “Skin Microbiome” is receiving more and more attention in skincare product innovation, with the percentage of prebiotic claim growing year by year.

Mintel experts track the trending ingredients and new product launches globally, today we are going to focus on the prebiotic skincare ingredient Star – Oat Kernel Extract.

Among New Launches in Mintel Global New Products Database (GNPD), in 2020, 1.6% of new skincare products contain Oat Kernel Extract and another 0.5% contain Oat kernel Oil ingredient. The percentage of use of these 2 two ingredients has continued to grow over the past 5 years.
