5 cosmeceuticals highlighted at in-cosmetics Korea 2018

With 2018 marking its 4th edition, in-cosmetics Korea will bring together exhibitors of ingredients, fragrances, lab equipment, testing and regulatory solutions, as well as cosmetic manufacturers from Korea and overseas. Taking place 13-15 June at COEX (Hall C), the event will showcase both local and global industry trends, offering unrivalled access to the latest raw materials, testing services and extensive learning opportunities.

This year, Mintel will explore the latest movements in China’s growing cosmeceuticals market. Attendees are encouraged to join Mintel in the Innovation Zone (Booth H60) to see, touch and test the latest concepts from cosmeceutical brands during our live product demonstrations.

Here, we take a sneak peek at some of the local cosmeceutical products that will be on display:

Urtekram Sensitive Soothing Gentle Toner

This toner claims to be formulated for Asian skin, and is said to effectively repair the skin’s barrier for a healthy glow, while continuously reducing sensitivity. The product contains Denmark Iskilde cold spring water from 50 metres under the Mossø protected area, and active plant extracts like bio-malva sylvestris flower extract, sambucus nigra flower extract and glycyrrhiza labra (licorice) root extract.


Coscure HA Deep Moisturising Renewing Milk

Coscure is a skincare brand that focuses on simplicity, with products developed for the needs of Asian sensitive skin types through the use of simple formulas. The Renewing Milk is formulated with Japanese advanced emulsification technology, said to instantly penetrate into the skin to repair its protective barrier, stimulate its absorption of nutrients and increase the speed of absorbing effective ingredients.


Doctor LI Blackhead Cleansing Care Set

Doctor LI is a Chinese brand that was set up with the help of Australian skincare expert Dr. Mielon Lee. In the Chinese market for decades, Doctor LI is targeted to the masses and is mainly distributed in lower tier cities. This set features a blackhead remover solution, a blackhead remover mask, as well as a pore refining and moisturising toner. The remover mask is formulated with Japanese pop rice, and is said to reduce the size of pores for a smooth and bright finish. The remover mask in this range is formulated with charcoal and tea extrates, and claims to cleanse and purify the skin while preventing the formation of acne. Finally, the toner is formulated with witch hazel water and lavender, and is said to soothe skin dryness for a delicate finish.


PZH Special Treatment Acne Removing Cleanser

PZH Special Treatment is a local brand known for its focus on a traditional Chinese ingredient, Pian Zai Huang. While it is known as a medicine, it has since expanded into beauty and personal care categories. This cleanser from the brand features a mild, non-irritating formula that claims to cleanse and remove makeup, remove excess sebum and replenish the skin with water. It is also said to help relieve skin for a comfortable and fresh complexion. Suitable for oily skin types with acne, the formula also claims to restore skin into its balanced state and reduce the appearance of acne.

Winona Natural Skin Care Anti Sensitive Essence

Winona is one of China’s first local brands that specially targets sensitive skin. It is recommended by dermatologists and enjoys good consumer reviews. This essence is described as a relieving and nourishing formula that reduces irritation, restores the skin’s water-oil balance, improves its resistance and repairs damaged skin barrier, while helping to quickly soothe, deeply moisturise and relieve it for a comfortable sensation. Suitable for sensitive, dry and oily skin, the allergy-tested formula contains portulaca oleracea extract, beta-glucan, sodium hyaluronate, and prinsepia utilis oil.
