Comperemedia Director of Insights – Telecom, Emily Groch and Mintel Senior Gaming Analyst John Poelking reflect on a busy year of streaming to give us their take on the current digital landscape and a look ahead to what’s next. Last year, Emily and John discussed what would be known as “the streaming wars;” when telecom giants were bolstering their streaming libraries looking to attract the largest amount of users.

In 2020, streaming had new services, shifting expectations, and of course a pandemic that led to an immense increase from users that were locked down at home. As more people spend time at home, consumers have seen their options grow.

How has free-ad supported services provided a happy medium for consumers and marketers alike? How will bigger streaming platforms like HBO Max and Apple TV+ pivot with original programming delayed due to the pandemic? Here, Emily and John explain:
