Mintel is pleased to announce the appointment of Mohamed Omer as Global Personal Care Analyst.

Based in Chicago, Mohamed will play a key part in strengthening Mintel’s global Beauty and Personal Care research, with a focus on hair care and oral hygiene.

Mohamed brings with him over ten years of experience in the personal care and household industry, having previously held positions at major personal care companies worldwide.

Before joining Mintel, Mohamed was the Technical Development Manager at Glenn Corp – Chicago, responsible for the growth and penetration of the targeted markets, and for the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies. Prior to that, Mohamed hold the position of Principal Scientist at Unilever, specifically in the Hair Care division, creating consumer technical models and identifying strategic new product development targets for key brands. Mohamed also held various senior positions for other industry leaders, such as Colgate-Palmolive, Reckitt Benckiser and Gojo.

Mohamed holds an M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from Iowa State University. Before he entered the beauty and personal care industry he worked at the New York Police Department crime lab as an expert on controlled substances.
