WABEL Grocery summit

WABEL Grocery summit

November 6th, 2018 - November 7th, 2018
Tremblay-en-France, France

Wabel Grocery Summit, Europe’s leading event for private label & brands suppliers and buyers, will open its doors on November 6th, at the Hilton Hotel Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Join Edward Bergen, Global Food & Drink analyst at Mintel, Wabel’s Trends and Innovation partner, for insightful presentations and product demonstrations. First thing in the morning, he will introduce you to tomorrow’s consumer and later during the day, he will run you through these consumers’ eating habits and behaviour. Find out more about the presentations below.

Who are Tomorrow’s Consumers?

Young consumers in their late teens and early twenties demonstrate attitudes and opinions about food and dieting that are different to those of older adults. Considering these young people are the consumers of tomorrow, it is important for food and drink companies to understand what they think, and what matters to them.

What do Tomorrow’s Consumers eat?

Food and drink brands can respond to 16-20s’ interest in functional foods and products that give them a competitive edge, eg products that are high protein, offer skin benefits and an energy boost. Away from physical benefits, 16-20s want products that help them to relax, are ethical, and they also demand transparency from companies. The rise of veganism among young consumers often stems from their concerns about health, climate change and animal welfare. But it could also reflect their interest in a cause that celebrates compassion and encourages them to rebel against established ideas about food and food production, in a social media-savvy way.
