Lynn Dornblaser, Director of Innovation & Insights – presents “Nourishing Companions: Emerging Trends in the Global Pet Food Market”
January 30, 2024 Atlanta, GA
Description:
Pet food product introductions continue strong globally, accounting for over half of all pet food and treat introductions. Trends in foods for dogs and cats mirror those for their human owners: Products that are personalized to specific health needs, natural or easy to understand ingredients, and all aspects of sustainability. These trends are expressed differently from one part of the world to another, and some are stronger in some regions compared to others. This presentation will look at some of the most important product trends happening in dog and cat food globally, provide some insight into consumer attitudes and behaviors regarding their pets, and offer insight as to where to look for inspiration.
Ms. Lynn Dornblaser brings more than 35 years of product trend knowledge to her work at Mintel, which she joined in 1998. She applies her unique perspective on the market and new product development to tailored client research and to extensive public speaking. Prior to joining Mintel, Ms. Dornblaser covered new product trends at several trade magazine publishing companies, as editor and editorial director of publication New Product News. She has been quoted by major US news organizations, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, and CNN. In addition, Ms. Dornblaser has also served as keynote lecturer and speaker for numerous industry groups and sales forums. Ms. Dornblaser holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Illinois and has also contributed to a textbook on new product development. She can usually be found in the aisles of a supermarket somewhere in the world.
This presentation will seek to dispel some of the myths surrounding the cohort, which contend that older people are not interested in new products, are unhappy and unhealthy, and can be treated as one homogenous group. It will offer actionable takeaways for brands seeking to win in an increasingly aging world.
