California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”)

This section applies only to California residents, under certain circumstances and in accordance with applicable laws. As a California resident, you have the right to request that we disclose to you specific details about your Personal Information (as defined under the “CCPA”) that we have collected, used and disclosed over the past 12 months (and/or a copy of your Personal Information). Details you are entitled to request are as follows:

  • the categories of Personal Information we have collected about you;
  • the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected;
  • the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling personal information;
  • the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information; and
  • the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

As a California resident, we acknowledge your right to inform Mintel not to sell your Personal Information. Please note that:

  • Mintel has not within the last twelve (12) months sold Personal Information to third parties (pursuant to California Civil Code §§ 1798.100–1798.199); and
  • Mintel has not within the last twelve (12) months sold Personal Information of minors under the age of sixteen (16).

In accordance with applicable law, we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your California privacy rights.

If you are unable to access this Privacy Policy due to a disability or any physical or mental impairment, please contact us and we will arrange to supply you with the information you need in an alternative format that you can access.

  • We have collected the following categories of Personal Information, within the last twelve (12) months:
  • Identifiers (e.g., name, email address, phone number)
  • Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e))
  • Professional or employment-related information
  • Commercial information (of your associated business, e.g. Subscription records from our Syndicated Services.)
  • Biometric information (by default and only ever following your consent on a videoconference call)
  • Internet or other similar network activity
  • Geolocation data (IP address)
  • Financial Information (e.g., payment information in the process of providing you with a subscription.)
  • Professional or employment-related information
  • Any other category of personal information that an individual chooses to disclose (via telephone, email, helpdesk, competitions and surveys etc.)
  • Protected classification characteristics under California or federal law

Please note that not all of this information is collected or disclosed from all consumers using our Services.

The business and commercial purposes for which we collect and process your Personal Information are described in the, ‘How We Use Data’ section of this Privacy Policy.

The categories of third parties to whom we “disclose” Personal Information to and for what purpose are described in the ‘Sharing your data’ section of this Privacy Policy.

How to exercise you rights as a California Resident

You have the right to access your Personal Information. Once we have received your request, we will acknowledge it and respond in accordance with the applicable laws, within a reasonable timeframe. We strive to keep you updated where possible; including information about any applicable administrational fees, additional information required timeframes and denied requests based on a legitimate reason (we will provide an explanation of our decision if this applies). Please note that disclosures provided may only cover a twelve (12) month period prior to the receipt of your data request.

This type of request should be received in writing. Email or Postal methods are accepted. If Email or a Postal method is unsuitable please contact us and we will arrange to supply you with the information you need (this Privacy Policy) in an alternative format that you can access and help you find an alternative method to assist you with your data request.
