MintelGives is our charitable donation programme. What makes it special is that the global committee brainstorms, plans and works together on ideas, initiatives and causes. This year saw lots of Mintel outreach and employees share their time and talents with nonprofits and charitable organisations around the world.

In March, employees from Mintel’s Sydney office volunteered at Two Good, an organisation providing food and lifestyle products to domestic violence refuges, and a number of local soup kitchens.

In May, the London office committed to a big environmental push by launching MintelEco, a new offshoot of MintelGives, that is dedicated to advancing internal and external initiatives to improve our environmental impact.

As part of MintelGives, our Singapore office sponsored a Bingo and high tea session for 30 seniors in June.

World Oceans Day saw us raising awareness of plastic pollution in the sea, in preparation for the great July beach clean, when 100+ volunteers from the London office removed a staggering 46 kg of plastic and microplastic waste from the shingle of Herne Bay, Kent.

Also in July, the US offices participated in the annual Rubber Ducky Derby Drive for Special Olympics Illinois.

September saw a global effort by our APAC and US offices to raise money for the floods that devastated Kerala in India over the summer.

As part of another new initiative from MintelGives, the Chicago office launched MintelFeeds in October, with employees spending the morning at non-profit organisation Common Pantry to help provide fresh fruit and vegetables to neighbours in need.

November marked the launch of Mintel Chicago’s Holiday Wish Book in partnership with One Hope United, a non-profit dedicated to increasing opportunities for children and families by enhancing lives, communities and futures, for the fourth consecutive year. While the London office got busy raising money for Movember by organising various events including a pub quiz and a cycling challenge, which saw Mintel employees cycling for 391 km on static bikes!

Finally, to culminate the year and celebrate the festive holiday season, Mintel took part in Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, with employees proudly walking around the office wearing reindeers and Santas on their jumpers.
