This year again, Mintel is exhibiting at in-cosmetics Global 2019 (stand K110) and taking centre stage at the Innovation Zone with our daily Live Demonstrations.

In this coming edition, we will be focusing on the key factors shaping the beauty industry, bringing global product innovation to you and talking about the key topics affecting the market.

Live Demonstrations – Beauty Spot: Tapping into Emotions

This year’s innovation zone will focus on new concepts in haircare, skincare and colour cosmetics, as brands aim to stand out from the crowd and make an emotional appeal to potential customers. We have selected 20 products that tap into emotions like wellness, happiness and intrigue through novel textures and formats and our Senior Beauty Analyst, Alex Fisher, will talk you through these at the following times:

Tuesday (2 April) and Wednesday (3 April) at 11:30, 13:30 and 16:15

Thursday (4 April) at 11:30, 13:30 and 15:45

Marketing Trends Theatre Expert-Led Presentations

Skincare and the influence of allergies and the coming trends for haircare are the two topics we have selected this year for our presentations at the Marketing Trends theatre.

Emotional skincare: how sensitivity & allergies are changing the category

Sensitive skin affects half of all women across the globe and is causing more consumers to seek out gentle products that deliver relief from irritation. From chamomile and calendula to Centella Asiatica (cica) and cannabinoids, consumers are looking for ‘hero’ ingredients to soothe their skin. These conditions trigger emotional purchases, and that’s playing a big role in pricing and shopping habits. We take a look at how brands, suppliers and retailers can build trust with consumers who have skin sensitivities – using targeted solutions, in-store expertise and a more tailored service.  By Jo Lawlor, Global Beauty and Personal Care Analyst.

Tuesday (2 April) at 11:00.

What’s next in haircare: emerging trends

Haircare consumers want it all… products that correct damage, address concerns and accomplish styling goals. Consumers already expect basic product functionality, such as effective moisturisation, but haircare that delivers a unique and singular benefit by hair texture, lifestyle or life stage can entice new customers to trial. This presentation will identify and understand emerging haircare trends, consumer concerns and desired outcomes. Andrew McDougall, Associate Director of Beauty and Personal Care, EMEA.

Wednesday (3 April) at 14:00.
