European grocery sales saw a big spike in the first lockdown as people spent more time at home and less on foodservice. There will be a similar – if less extreme – increase till the end of the year.

The various COVID-19 restrictions will result in European consumers being determined to celebrate Christmas after all they have been through, if they can afford it, as Mintel’s Associate Director of Food and Drink, Jonny Forsyth, explains in this new video.
