Mintel BPC cherry-picks the 10 coolest new beauty and personal care products that have launched across the world this month.

Mintel’s beauty and personal care team is lucky enough to track the new beauty product launches from across the globe on a daily basis. But as all good beauty geeks know, the excitement must be shared with fellow beauty lovers – hence the team is showcasing the latest ingredients, concepts, textures, formats and packaging designs that are shaking up the beauty industry. Allow us to share some of the coolest innovations for May…

Fabulous new textures

Beauty Kubes Shampoo for Normal to Dry Hair, $16 (UK): Cute shampoo portions that look just like sugar cubes. They’re also organic, vegan, made with biodegradable cleansing agents and don’t need any plastic packaging – which means they’re eco-friendly too.

Asis-Tobe Water Drop Soap, $30 (South Korea): This jelly-textured soap saves on unnecessary plastic packaging while satisfying the five senses and protecting the skin’s barrier. Every bathroom needs one!

Anti-pollution superstars

Miss de Gaspé Purify & Purge Anti-Pollution & Detoxifying Dry Mask, $39 (USA): An on-the-go-use dry mask that counteracts pollution damage. It’s waterless (meaning less bacteria) and includes an 83% concentration of actives that have been dry-printed onto the textile – helping skin take in more antioxidants.

Urban Decay All Nighter Environmental Defense Makeup Setting Spray, $34 (USA): This multi-tasking face spray claims to keep makeup in place for up to 16 hours, while defending skin from pollution.

Ingenious new ingredients

Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation, $36.95 (UK): Skin-perfecting foundation enriched with en vogue superfood – quinoa – to help heal inflammation and increase skin elasticity.

Atopalm Probiotics Moisture Pact, $22.25 (South Korea): Tapping into the probiotics trend, this cushion compact moisturiser for children includes bifida ferment lysate to lessen sensitivity, fortify the skin barrier, and moisturise with a blend of oils.

Instagrammable faves

M.A.C x Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2018 collection, $35-$185 (USA): Teaming up with fashion designer Jeremy Scott was always going to be a winner for M.A.C – and this 80s/90s music-inspired collaboration is a welcome blast from the past.

Lancôme Macaron Blush & Blender, $44.25 (France): Blusher and blender sponge duo that’s designed to look like brightly-coloured macarons.

Top-to-toe-use masks

Foreo UFO Activated Smart Mask, $159 (USA): This looks like it’s just flown in from another world – the smart mask device uses Hyper-Infusion Technology (heating, cooling and T-Sonic pulsations) and LED light therapy to give a professional-grade facial treatment at home in just 90 seconds. The masks are paired with a pre-programmed, app-controlled treatment routine to boost their effects.

Hollywood Skin Active Body Patches for the Bum, $9.92 (Germany): Firming patches that include ginkgo biloba, caffeine and capsaicin to help reduce cellulite and firm the derrière. Perfect for a pre-holiday confidence boost!
