Make Up

I don’t often wear makeup, but when I do – my sister (who is five years younger than I am by the way) has to apply it for me. Other than lip gloss and a bit of mascara, I’m clueless about which shade is best, how to make sure my eye makeup matches my lipstick, etc. It’s also difficult to find colors that look good on my skin as an African-American woman. Enter Kristina Scherbaum, and her computer software program that was recently showcased at CeBIT.

The software takes a 3D image of your face and based on your complexion, shadows and lines, suggests the perfect personalized makeup combination. The program isn’t ready for commercial use yet, but soon will be. It can also be modified to suggest different looks based on the occasion–a night on the town, a hot date, etc.

This program would be perfect for people like me who are novices when it comes to makeup application, but would like to experiment with different looks. I would definitely feel more confident about using more beauty products if I knew my makeup matched perfectly.
