Mintel experts track the trending ingredients and new product launches, spotlight the trends affecting the market and its future growth. In this episode, we’re looking at an ingredient with multiple benefits – Nonapeptide-1. It is also known as the “whitening peptide”.

Among New Launches in Mintel GNPD, over the past five years (January 2018 – December 2022), the proportion of beauty and personal care products containing nonapeptide-1 has increased by 458.3%. This ingredient continues to be widely used in facial and neck care products, while some Southeast Asian markets have also seen its application in hair care category.
