Mintel has appointed Adiat Baker to serve as its first Global Diversity Manager.

As experts in what consumers want and why, Mintel strives to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive company culture that leads with insight and expertise. The Global Diversity Manager will be pivotal to help Mintel deliver on its purpose to help people and businesses grow.

In her new role, Adiat will champion diversity and inclusion best practices across Mintel’s worldwide offices, while benchmarking the company’s achievements across employee recruitment, retention, and performance against industry leaders. She will work to enhance business practices and strategic planning, report her findings, and make recommendations directly to Mintel’s global leadership team.

Adiat also serves as the US Chair of MintelGives, the company’s charitable donation programme supporting employees’ interest and involvement in non-profit organisations. Previously, she worked on Mintel’s Client Services team for nearly 14 years, supporting clients and commercial colleagues in Mintel’s Americas business, including assisting in the management of a portfolio of 50+ clients.

Adiat Baker, Mintel Global Diversity Manager, said:

“As someone passionate about social change, I am eager to begin my journey as Mintel’s Global Diversity Manager and excited about the positive legacy I believe we as an organisation will deliver.

“Our vision is to seek and value diverse talent and unique perspectives to drive sustainable success for our business and people. I look forward to bringing together different parts of our worldwide business – from executive leadership to the recruitment and corporate social responsibility teams – to ensure Mintel stays at the forefront of diversity and inclusion best practices.

“My immediate priority is to support and guide our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). As one of the main agents of change within our organisation, the ERGs provide a safe space for Mintel employees and their allies to find common ground, express their views, gain insight into existing challenges, and counsel senior leadership on internal culture and thought leadership for our clients.”

Peter Haigh, Group CEO, Mintel, said:

“We believe our people and culture are what sets Mintel apart, so it’s crucial that we continue to build an organisation that fosters diversity and equitability. We are committed to supporting an inclusive community where differences are celebrated and everyone has the opportunity to develop. We are also committed to making meaningful improvements to our business that benefit our clients in the form of highly-relevant content and our employees by making Mintel a great place to work.

“Adiat is the perfect fit for this role. She’s highly respected, has great enthusiasm, and a proven track record of delivering excellence. It’s clear, to anyone who’s worked with her, how committed Adiat is about diversity and doing whatever it takes to support and encourage a more inclusive Mintel community. We are truly excited to see the impact of her work.”
