Heading into its 30 edition, in-Cosmetics global – the leading event for personal care ingredients – is kicking off on 2nd April 2019 in Paris. As always, Mintel is taking centre stage at the Innovation Zone, with daily Live Demonstrations. This year, we are focusing on beauty tapping into the emotions, highlighting new concepts in haircare, skincare and colour cosmetics that make an emotional appeal.

Here, we provide a sneak peek at 5 innovative products that we are featuring at in-Cosmetics.

& Other Stories, Tailor your Story Layering Scent (UK)

This trio of roll perfumes allows you to create a personalised signature scent. They can be used separately or combined, in no particular order, letting consumers tailor the end result for micro-emotional states and occasions during the day.

Forever Wild Organics, Forever Calming Hair Growth Tea and Rinse Treatment (US)

A tea that can be drunk for inside-out beauty benefits… or applied directly on hair as a natural conditioner! Brew for 20 minutes to drink as a tea, and for four to eight hours to use as a soothing treatment. It claims to support hair growth while reducing stress and promoting sleep.

Yes To Grapefruit, Glow-Boosting Unicorn Peel-Off Mask (US)

This glow-boosting face mask is iridescent pink, lending itself well to Millennials’ interest in beauty social media posts and selfies. Also appealing to the trend for clean beauty, the product is made of 96% natural ingredients and is free of phthalates and parabens.

Shingmulnara, Jeju Spa Water Hair Pack (South Korea)

A water-texture treatment that transforms into a cream upon contact with water. It’s designed for in-shower use, as the steam helps nutrients penetrate hair cuticles. Featuring seaweed and sparkling spa water from Jeju Island, this treatment will appeal to time-poor consumers looking for quick and easy solutions.

Smith & Sinclair, Edible Fragrance (UK)

Playful in nature, this edible concoction can either be worn as a perfume or sprayed into drinks to create a more complex flavour. It comes in three flavours: cherry blossom & mandarin, perfect for gin-based drinks; watermelon & citrus, great on fruity cocktails as well as Prosecco; and pear & vanilla, said to enhance the flavour of an Espresso Martini.
