in-cosmetics Asia update – rescheduled until 14-16 December 2011

November 4, 2011

Mintel’s Beauty team were planning to attend in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok this week. Due to flooding in Thailand, the show has been rescheduled to 14-16 December 2011. We hope to see you there at this later date. In the meantime our thoughts are very much with the families of the people affected in the region.

This year at in-cosmetics Asia

For the second time, Mintel will be the offical partner of the Innovation Zone, offering interactive demonstrations of the latest innovative beauty & personal care products from around the globe. We will also contribute to the conference programme and Senior experts will be available for consultation at the Mintel stand.

Air, Water, Earth – Beauty Innovation and the Elements

The theme of Mintel’s activity will be Air, Water, Earth – Beauty Innovation and the Elements. The 2011 trend continues to see beauty companies incorporating oxygen, carbon, special water and other earthly elements as ingredients:

1) Oxygen: The use of oxygen and oxygenating actives continues to evolve in Asia, France and the US.

2) Hydrogen + Oxygen = Water: Water from spas, thalasso centres and Alpine sources are the basis of several European spa and pharmacy brands, however Asia is the emerging source for water.

3) Carbon (Fullerene, C60): This active is found in new Japanese skincare launches (previously seen in US and European doctor brands); it is claimed to be a powerful anti-oxidant.

4) Other earthly elements: Mud (kaolin clay) is a classic cosmetic ingredient, especially in face masks; perlite is used in deodorants and nail colour and pumice features in scrubs. Other volcanic and sedimentary actives are appearing, too.

Join us for our interactive product demonstrations in the Innovation Zone

Discover the hottest finished products on the market from Europe, Asia, and America, sourced by Mintel’s team of beauty trend spotters. Be inspired by an interactive display of the most innovative skincare, hair care and colour cosmetics, incorporating the elements as ingredients.
