Mintel x AltProteins 23 Conference Australia & New Zealand

  • ANZ
  • Food and Drink
October 4th, 2023
8:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Sydney time
Melbourne, Australia

Food Frontier’s AltProteins 23 program will explore the significant changes we’ve experienced during the last two years and identify the challenges and opportunities for the plant-based meat, cultivated meat, and precision fermentation sectors.

Mintel analysts Megan Stanton and Adriana Heinzen are invited to join the conference for both key note speech and panel discussions.

Adriana Heinzen, Mintel’s South APAC Consulting Director, is going to talk about market opportunities in Asia

Australia exported $23 billion of processed food and beverage products in 2020 and according to Austrade, companies that export are more resilient than non-exporters. New Zealand exported $42.3 billion in food and drink in 2022. International markets will need to be a major part of a thriving alternative proteins industry in our region. This session delves into the latest research into five key Asian markets.

Megan Stanton, Associate Director, Mintel’s South APAC Food & Drink and global animal and alternate protein analyst, will join a panel discussion about consumer acceptance and education.

Our centre of plate protein options are changing—a trend that will continue in years to come. However current alternative protein options are still new to many people, and there are many new innovations yet to make it to our plates. In this session we hear from leading businesses about how consumers currently perceive these foods and what messaging and marketing tactics can increase interest, understanding and uptake.
