What are the opportunities for food drink and ingredient producers in the functional food space?
Free from dieting as a lifestyle trend by Emma Schofield
Wednesday 8th of May, 13:00 – 13:30
What opportunities does the free from dieting trend bring for the food industry, and what are the potential risks from a health and nutrition perspective. Consumers often believe that avoiding ‘common’ food allergens (or ingredients linked to intolerances) such as dairy, lactose and gluten, is a route to health. This presentation explores which free from diets are trending, and the reasons why consumers are interested in different types of free from diet. Which ‘free from’ diets may emerge and grow in future, such as FODMAP dieting, and which consumers are likely to be interested in these diets.
