Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery, Candy Industry Magazine, and Mintel’s Jenny Zegler have collaborated to provide a broad overview of consumer priorities for sustainability in food and drink. She will center it around Mintel’s 2024 Global Food & Drink Trend Climate Changes, Comfort Endures. The trend highlights that consumers will expect food and drink companies to maintain sustainability efforts, but they will prioritize comfort as the prime selling point for products. (In this case, the notion of “comfort” aligns perfectly with confectionery!) Jenny will introduce this trend and explain how it applies to confectionery with Mintel consumer data on priorities for sustainability in confectionery as well as GNPD data and product examples of products making ethical and environmental claims.
