As Mintel’s Airpocalypse Now Trend describes, concerns over air pollution are rising and consumers are increasingly looking for solutions to avert, protect or neutralise daily pollutants on both the inside and out.
Using our Global New Products Database (GNPD), we have selected 10 innovative products tapping into this trend through offering overall protection from pollution, sun and stress.
A green colour-correcting base that claims to provide hydration and 12 hours protection against UV, pollution, dust and micro particles. The product is formulated with moringa seed extract and anti-ageing active Venuceane, which is said to shield against city and environmental attacks.
A nutrient-dense scalp scrub designed to eliminate impurities, soothe and purify, while offering UV and heat protection. It features apple cider vinegar to clarify the scalp; walnut oil to help hydrate and nourish; walnut shell powder to help maintain a clean scalp environment while strengthening hair follicles; sugar/sucrose to manually exfoliate the scalp, removing flakes that cause itchiness and irritation.

This sustainable skincare brand is said to be freshly manufactured and hand-crafted in-house in the countryside of Zurich, where the company only uses 100% natural, vegan and plant-based ingredients. The gentle daily exfoliator is designed to clarify skin with fresh organic pineapple and papaya enzymes and aquamarine, to detoxify with green French clays, and to exfoliate with organic musk rose seed powder from Chile.
The cleansing emulsion claims to cleanse, tone and remove makeup, simplifying the routine for the consumer. Olympus Tea extract is combined with an active botanical blend of citrus flavonoids, broccoli and aloe leaf extract that protects against environmental pollution.
