DeskBeers is a subscription service that will deliver a variety of local craft beers to offices on Friday afternoons.

The London-based company supports local brewers and offer users a new ale, stout, lager or bitter every week.

Cheers to that

Consumers are becoming increasingly interested in purchasing local food and drink items. And beer is no exception: According to Mintel’s Beer UK December 2012 report, 42% of consumers say they prefer to drink regional beer to support local producers.

At the same time, we’re seeing companies and businesses take a more relaxed approach to the environments they create for their employees, especially in light of increasing levels of employee dissatisfaction. We’ve seen naps encouraged as well as pets allowed and even massages provided.

DeskBeers speaks to both these issues by integrating its service into Friday afternoon beer drinking with a range of local, craft options and turning this delivery into an event in itself that can help bring employees together.

Other companies looking for ways to boost the morale of their staff members while also doing their bit to help the local community would surely benefit from pursuing a similar scheme.

For a deep and complete analysis of the current situation of consumers and their lifestyles, Mintel published the following market research: Beer in the UK.
