Actively Giving Back to Local Community, Mintel Gives Joins Hands with Shanghai Sunshine Home to Walk for Love

Mintel China, world’s leading market intelligence agency, recently partnered with Xinzhuang “Sunshine Home” in Minhang District, Shanghai, a non-profit organization for the intellectually disabled, for the fourth time. Mintel China’s employee charity organization “Mintel Gives” came to “Sunshine Home”, to make mung bean cakes for the mentally handicapped to cool off the summer heat.

This community outreach was initiated by Mintel Gives, a charity organization internally established by Mintel China, and generously supported by leaders of Xinzhuang Disabled Persons’ Federation (XDPF) in Minhang District.

“A good company must be a social enterprise. Over the past ten years since entering the Chinese market, Mintel has been committed to giving back to the local community. Therefore, we set up an employee charity organization “Mintel Gives” to actively fulfill corporate social responsibility. Together with our local Chinese partners, we help the local communities in China to the best of our ability,” said Matthew Nelson, General Manager of Mintel APAC. “We are grateful to Xinzhuang Sunshine Home for continued support that allows us to continuously bring warmth to trainees and support to the society through this specialized platform. Of course, we also actively pay attention to all aspects of corporate social responsibility, such as environmental protection and employee care, and strive to deliver positive company spirit and love and support for the public good.”

Founded in October 2005, Xinzhuang Sunshine Home aims at promoting integration between the trainees and the community. Relying on this neighborhood center platform, trainees at Sunshine Home can participate in appropriate activities hosted by the community at close quarters. Sunshine Home has also become an important venue for the intellectually disabled to do follow-up rehabilitation exercises, do simple work and integrate into the society.

“Under the leadership of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and with the care of the district disabled persons’ federation and relevant authorities, Sunshine Home is moving toward normalization,” said the head of Xinzhuang Sunshine Home. “We are pleased to be able to establish a long-term partnership with Mintel. Specialized public welfare organizations are needed to help enterprises show and spread love. I hope our two organizations to further create a robust interaction mechanism, provide resource support for programs we jointly take part in, and promote the development of charity undertakings.”
