Global Trendspotters Identify Trends That Will Impact the Region’s New Product DevelopmentHealthy, environmental and demographically focused products were all key discussion points at Mintel’s recent global consumer trends presentation, held in Mexico. Close to 500 officials from Latin America’s consumer packaged goods industry assembled to learn about the trends that will impact future new product development. According to Mintel, close to 47,000 new food and nonfood products have been launched over the last three years in Latin America alone. Beverages and bakery continue to be the strongest food and beverage sectors, while household products and haircare dominate the nonfood sector. Mintel continues to see increased innovation in the Latin American region, signaling development opportunities for companies.
