Associate Director, Mintel Food & Drink
Melanie is associate director and global food analyst for Mintel’s Premium Global Food & Drink Insights platform. She provides insights on global innovation and consumer trends across a number of food categories and helps create Mintel’s annual Global Food & Drink Trends. Prior to joining Mintel in 2017, she previously reported on industry news and trends for the Institute of Food Technologists. Melanie holds a BS in journalism from Northwestern University. In her spare time, she loves to share what she’s eating at home in Chicago or while traveling the globe on her Instagram, @melanietastestheworld.

Associate Director for Food & Drink – Canada
Joel Gregoire serves as Associate Director for Food and Drink at Mintel, specializing in the Canadian food and drink industry. Joel has 20 years of experience working in market research, 15 of which have been focused on what matters to Canadians in terms of how they eat and drink. Joel is primarily responsible for Mintel’s Food and Drink content in Canada and has personally authored over 100 reports on various topics during his tenure. Joel also contributes to various media publications. Despite Joel’s expertise in understanding what Canadians eat, he’s still struggling to figure out what to feed his kids.
